Thank God, we finally got some rain this evening. Pretty heavy storm came thru with quite a bit of wind but no hail. Not sure how much we got but it rained pretty hard for about a half hour then has settled down to a good rain and is supposed to continue for a couple hours yet. At the very least, this area has gotten a good washing and it has to help the corn, beans, gardens and hay fields. Hope everyone else gets some too. Keith

I got about 1/2" yesterday and another 1?2-3/$ today. You can thank those fires in Colorado for the rain.
The enormas amount of heat from the fires pushes that slightly moist air up at a rapid rate and as it expands and cools the cloudes are born. If you connect to the NOAH weather radar loop for the U.S. you can see the clockwise circulation around that high pressure system centered someware around south Missouri. Picks up moisture from the gulf.
Sorry for the folks in Co. (Got a nephew in Colorado Springs) but still glad for the rain.

You could have some of ours if you like. Apparently we have had the wettest consecutive 3 months on record here in The UK. I knew we had had it wet but I never really expected to hear that!
I can remember some difficult hay times , which is why we and many other farmers went over onto round bale silage instead, although we did make hay when we could. I do remember one freak year we sent all our spray chemicals back unopened to the dealer because we could not use them. Some farmers with livestock even made their weed-infested barley crops into silage crops that year!

Missed us again, although with all the damage in Indiana and Ohio, that might be a good thing. Corn looks good in the morning but badly curled in the p.m.

We got about 1/4 inch last night from that storm that rolled through, But I sure could have done without the wind! In the Blanchester Oh area there is alot of downed trees and building damage. Went to check on mom and dad after the storm and a 10min drive took an hour due to tree lims in the roads and had to walk the last 1/2 mile to there place for the same reason. They were fine and I got the Ghel skid steer out and started cleaning the road of tree lims and debree. Lot of poeple are still without power this mornning and its going to be in the 100s today. Its going to be a long hot clean up day! Bandit
