Just to let some of you know. Colorado has had no rain that i can remember-- Like less than 3 inches this year.
I just watched the 6:00PM news. 103 degrees at 6:00pm with about 4 % humidity. The Fort Collins fire of over 60,000 acres just burned another 50 homes-I think thats around 200 now. Over 10 days now with 2000 fire fighter and 6 tanker planes--the say months to completely put out.New fire at Colorado Springs just evacuated 11,000 people 11 thousand. At least 8 fires gong in the state.
No rain is sighr and over 100 predicted for this week.

Your plight in Colorado and all those farming elsewhere makes me think twice
about complaining about too much rain
in Northern Minnesota. Noticed when out there
Elk hunting in 2009 and 2011 the amount of dead pine from the beetles. Thought about the fire aspect at that time. Really praying and hoping for you folks threatoned by
fire or making a living off the land,
that those faucets open up soon! Tom B.

102+ at Delta,hot winds every afternoon,no rain for months,none in sight.So far,western Colo isnt burning...yet.

I have been working East of Denver just south of Watkins and most of the wheat in that region has already been cut. We have been seeding a bunch of oil pads in that area hope that grass doesn"t germinate anytime soon.

We had only a few drops from a cloud that the wind blew by here in Salida, CO. We are boarding Animals and Equipment from Friends close to the fires.

We have the opposite problem here in east central Mn. Had about 20 inches of rain since April 20. It has been raining almost every day for a month. Sceeters are crazy, can't really go outside because they eat ya up.

Are other fire departments from other states helping out?
It is a shame when good forests go up in flames and that lumber could have been used for something.
Good luck we will be praying for you.

Sad thing is,a lot of that 'standing dead' timber could have been harvested. But the damn "tree huggers/bunny lovers"Will not permit building roads into the forest...
