Question for Poultry producers

I set 32 eggs to hatch about 6 weeks ago. Only 6 eggs hatched but we've raised all six. I need to add these pullets to my existing laying hen flock which totals 12 hens presently. How do I do this? I do have one mature rooster with the hens. Any precautions?

What I do is section an area off in the chicken house so the young birds can not get out but he bigger birds can get in. I also set a box or some such thing in so that the young birds can hide from the bigger ones. That way as they get bigger they can slowly escape to the rest of the house and so in turn they learn to get along with the rest of the flock. I will be adding more to my flock soon and need to figure out how to section off another are since I have young birds about 3 week old then more that are about 3 months old and then the old birds. Plus I have eggs in the incubator right now so it maybe fun to get them all set up

We do the same thing as Old. We put one of our old hens that is no longer laying and very mild mannered with them. We will keep them separate until they are big enough to defend themselves. Ours were born on June 1. I am in no rush to get them into the flock but will definately have them mixed by fall. It's a liitle more work having them separate but they are safer.
