GrazonNext vs. bull nettle

Saturday sprayed some goat weed and bull nettle using a hand sprayer and GrazonNext.

About an hour & 1/2 later, we had a thunderstorm that lasted 30+ minutes and got an inch of rain, some of it came down hard. Figured I'd have to re-spray every thing.

Sunday evening we took a tractor ride to see how the spraying did.

I thought there would be some effect on the goat weed since its so easy to kill, but really didn't expect any results on the bull nettle since there was such a short time between when I sprayed it and a hard rain. To my surprise the bull nettle had cratered.

Took a pic, will ask James to post it.

Been rained out...while spraying......numerous times; never had to re-spray....for a contact-kill chemical. Different story when we usta do a lot of pre-emerging; a heavy rain would sometimes wash away the chemical.

sometimes it actually will work better not always though,i was spraying a contact herbicide on peanuts and my son was spraying a glyphosate mix in the adjacent field when out of no where it can a downpour for about 10 minutes DIL can to get us and said that was 2 tanks of spray probably wasted to our surprise both worked as good as the ones that had ample time to become rain fast

Nancy, while James has the camera out.....
do you guys travel 271? If so, I think the board would get a kick out of seeing a shot of "the tractors that walk on water" south of you there. I was over that way a couple of months back, and they sure got my attention.
