OT Learning about Pearl Millet

I am getting my first crop and today noticed my first seed head in the early boot stage. Question is, does this millet regerminate annually like Foxtail millet does such that once you get it established it can take over and go on it's own? About 4" of seeds have emerged and upon cutting the stalk and examining the head, it is 10" buried in the stem for a total mature length of 14". Considering the size of the seeds, this amounts to millions per acre.
