What is eating my sweetcorn in GA?

grasshopper? I'd take a sloooowww walk through the corn looking to see what is flying around - but in any case you can treat it with Paola or Surround to kkep 'em off.

Do you have a lot of grasshoppers around? Had them shred a garden plot here a couple of years ago.

Look deep in the whorls of the plants. Are there little grub like caterpillars there? If so they are Armyworms. Don't know about your area but, NY is currently facing a plague of them.

Corn bore will usually leave a row of holes in a straight line. This is because they bore a hole in the leaf before it emerges.

I don't think he has corn bore. He has more of a leaf eating type of bug. Especially with larvae and feces on the leaf. Plus corn bore lay eggs in the soil.

Without a bug to look at it could be many different things.

I had some problems such as yours starting on mine and I used liquid sevin in a pump-up spray and the problem seems fixed. Your plants seem a little yellow and may need more fertlizer.
