3 point operation.

Hello Folks. Have a question about 3 point set up for a brush cutter. While looking at the 3 point set up it appears that the brush cutter should be able to rotate up or down on the pins after raised above the ground with the hydraulics. Is this right or am I not seeing why the cutter will not move up or down.It looks like just the weight of the cutter would cause it to roate down towards the ground.

Hey Cole in Mo; If I raise the cutter off the ground and then stand on the rear end of the cutter, should it go down towards the ground or remain at the height raised to? Thanks.

Without information on what you have I would say with the cutter raised up it should not go below level. If it does it might damage the shaft.

Cutter needs to be able to rotate UP in the back, if tractor rear wheels go in a hole. My cutter has a top link attachment that will allow the back of the cutter to go up- that is, top link can come forward. Adjust so it is level, and back won't go down- but will come up if it needs to.

you adjust the top link so the front of cutter is at the hight you want. then set stop on lever "3pt lift" use for referance. If you have to rase the cutter then you will have a referance point to return to. How high you set the cutter is your choice I set mine about 5" off ground in front and 4" in back to mow grass. some people let skids drag on ground. is hard on cutter and you don't want to be nearby.
