Works for me, as its been said when seconds can save your life the cops are only minutes away.

Of course this makes the anti gun nut liberals and progressives just go crazy, but sort of like posted below, to each their own. That woman has made her choice and the pro choice feminists do support a womans right to choose life or death now dont they??????? Hmmmmmmmmmmm so if logic prevails they have to support this womans "choice" right????

In my corner of the world this is fairly common. EVEN in walmart. One of my neighbors is an 81 yr old woman and she has packed since I have known her.But she switched from 357 to 38sp because her hands won't handle the hotter caliber anymore and she shoots pretty regularly. I have been loading down some 38 spec for her to practice with.

Really? Unless it's posted at the entrance with a certain minimum-sized sign it has no force in law, at least in Maine.

It's not at the local WM, I've looked.

Only reason I go in is to get ammo anyway...

You can carry a gun in wal-mart if you have a concealed carry permit. But if at any time that gun becomes so you can see it you will be told to leave store and it also goes for the parking lot to. The only person that can carry an exposed gun is a law enforcement officer. Wal-Mart pasted this policy on April 16,1999.

If it weren't for the rack, she'd pass for a man. Short hair, men's clothes, heat on the hip, biceps bigger than most men, and no veggies in the shopping cart.

Since I have become very cynical in my older age, I would bet this picture was staged (there"s no one else in sight). HOWEVER, while the majority of the public and the other shoppers at that store would have a problem with it, I do not.

Frankly, if a woman (or anyone) is going to carry a pistol for protection, the best place is on the hip. If its in her purse, which could be snatched, it takes considerably longer to get to it if she needs it.

I have considered getting a permit because I do a lot of traveling by myself, but I"m not at that point yet.

The National Rifleman recently ran an article about the dangers of "off person" carry. To easy to be seperated from a purse or backpack or forget you have it in a specific bag when entering an establishment that you can't CCW.

Really, Walmart has a policy against Firearms??? I carry there all the time, of course concealed, and I've never seen any signs at their entrance? I have seen a few other stores have signs posted, but since I'm concealed I ignore it. If they ever push it, I will stop being a customer. I have my right to protect myself. I have no intention of being the agressor, however, I will not be the victim.

Leo you are fine with your permit but do not let the gun get exposed they will make you leave the premiss and that includes the parking lot. Our Wal-Mart when they sold you a gun an emplyee had to take it to the front door and then give to you(this included air rifles). They would also not sell you any ammo at the time of purchase.

NOT my kind of women, UNLESS she reloads her own
too, bait's her own hook, and makes supreme
Squirrel and Dumplings! Mine can do that..and..
makes homemade bread, apple pies. and Blackberry
Jam.

In the real world (of TV) all Miss Kitty needed was Matt Dillon... That show had very high ratings for a very long time from the American public.. but that is now long gone. Too bad.

Nancy,

I am a member of the NRA and hold a carry/conceal permit. I carry/conceal a large percentage of the time...espcially when I am not with my husband. If you are at all interested, I would sure encourage you to get the permit and to carry when you are traveling alone.

If my daughter and I go for a walk by ourselves in the country, I carry a 2 shot .22 caliber derringer pistol in my pocket and a five shot .38 Special with laser site either at the small of my back or in a fanny pack (with the pack up front instead of in back). Also have a 10 round Walther semi-auto pistol - but tend to carry the .38 as larger rounds have more stopping power. I always buy personal protection ammunition for when I am carrying... it will damage human or animal tissue, but a wall is supposed to stop it - so one does not inadvertently injure or kill and innocent person in the vicinity, if you are forced to shoot at someone to protect yourself.

I have never needed my pistols yet and pray that I never will. But I feel much safer knowing that I at least have the means to protect my daughter and myself. I like knowing that if I have car trouble, I am not siding aside the road at the mercy of someone who may have bad intentions - and sadly there are a lot of them in the world. I am not paranoid... JUST PREPARED.

I always think of that grandmother traveling with her maybe 10 year old granddaughter - when some freak overpowered (and possibly killed the grandma, I don't remember) and abducted the poor little girl. People like that SHOULD be stopped and perhaps if she had been carrying a handgun, she may have been able to stop him.

i open carry 90% of the time and CC the other and have never had anyone make a fuss about it and we just got the right to CC. our cops are 25 to 30 min. away on a good day

look it up it has changed a little BUT it is NOT illegal to CC but dose have some rules about OC . our stores do not care

unfortunately, in my ghetto-like area, a large group of "youths" would push her down and take it before she knew it was happening. Concealed is better. We don't have gangs, the local cops call them "large groups of youths". ha ha

I just bought at WM and paid for it at the SG counter. Finished my shopping with it plainly visible in the cart and checked the basket's contents at the register as usual, showing the clerk my receipt for having paid for the "piece" already. N. Texas.
