Deutz 4506 clutch

Started the old 4506 up yesterday an it took off with the clutch depressed.

The clutch is not releasing. Ran fine the previous day. All of the external linkage is adjusted and in good shape so it looks like I'm going to have to split the tractor. Anyone ever redo a deutz clutch that can tell me what I might get into i.e. problem?

Thanks

Matt

I did 6265 several years ago pretty straight foward on mine all the bolts that held the tractor together where we split it had allen heads on them there were two by the fuel tank that were hard to get at but other then that it was easy we got an after market clutch for it at about half of what deutz wanted .

On many tractors, you can get at the clutch to free it up by taking off the starter and working through the hole. Tie down the clutch pedal, and using a knife bent 90 degrees a couple inches from the end, work through the gaps in the pressure plate and work the knife point in between the clutch plate and flywheel.

Didn't read your post closely enough- worked fine yesterday, so probably not just sticking to the flywheel after sitting awhile, which my remedy is for.

So as they used to say in Hollywood, "Looks like its Splitsville."

Started it up to put in in the shop last night and of course it took right off on me. Well for giggles I just stood on both brakes. Lugged down for a second or two then a loud pop an all functions as it should.

I'm sure I'm still due for a new clutch, but at least it buys me a bit of time.

Still amazed that it froze up that hard over night.

I sprayed off a duetz 4506 yesterday and then parked it for a couple hours when we started it back up there is no clutch at all and I'm trying to figure out if it's just wet or is it worse than that. When you got on brakes did you have the clutch depressed at same time?
