Too hot to do much yesterday afternoon, so I took some pictures around the yard.

My sugar maples I planted this spring, maybe in 30 years when I turn 70 I'll be able to tap for maple sugar...

I suppose it's true you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but it looks like he/she is asking to be trained to run the rototiller.

Why not plant 30 year old sugar maple trees? I have transplanted at least 20 over the years and all but one have survived. Yep, you need a source for trees and a TLB or forklift. Some are now a foot to 16" in diameter after 25+ years. Maples are shallow rooted and transplant well.

Wow, absolutely beautiful place... barn, house, lawn, critters - the whole nine yards!

Love that tractor seat you "planted". My husband has one in the barn - now I know just where it is going to go... will plant it in my rock garden by his shop.

(quoted from post at 21:33:04 06/10/12) That's nice, what state are you in? That tiller has a few years on it doesn't it? Looks to still be in good shape.
I'm in WI, about 15 mins south of Green Bay. The tiller has a couple of hours on it....My neighbors most likely think I'm nuts with the time I spend out in the garden, while they are out enjoying the summer in their boats and pools.
I do spray the pumpkins for the yellow "cucumber beetle". I also get some squash bugs, I just try to smoosh the eggs with my fingers when I see them as I don't have a liscense to get the pesticides that are strong enought to kill those.
