Very interesting pictures.

I found it interesting that someone added copyright notices (© Timothy O'Sullivan) to the pictures. Certainly O'Sullivan didn't add them himself; he's been long dead. Not only that, but these shouldn't be copyrightable works (since the government paid for them), and all works created before 1923 are in the public domain anyway.
 
Those are some great photos. I have two albums of Colorado photos take by W.H. Jackson around 1870, and then the same location taken again in 2000 by John Fielder. At least one of the photos was shown here.
