can a NH LX465 run a backhoe?

Anybody know if it can? Found what looks like a good deal on a Bobcat hoe, but don't know if my machine will run it. It has auxiliary but not high flow hydraulics.

I know that there are better units out there, but we have the occasional need for a hoe and don't have the money for an excavator or fullsize backhoe.

Thanks, Jake

You don't need high flow hydraulics to run a backhoe on a skid steer. I saw that post a while ago but never responded. Most skid steers have too much flow to begin with to run a backhoe at full throttle unless you're a really experienced operator. You only have a single cylinder for each function instead of 2 boom cylinders so your speed is pretty fast.

I'd say so, my father has a woods backhoe on his compact ford 1520 seems to work fine. I would think your 465 is more horse power than his 21 hp tractor!

I'm not familiar with your machine but if you have the aux. lines down the boom, there will be another foot pedal, hand lever or switch to activate the aux. hydraulics. It should pop in and stay there in one direction anyway. My skid steer has a foot pedal that locks in place in the forward position but not in the reverse direction.

HP doesn"t mean squat. Pump flow, whether regular or high flow, is what determines what you can run, vs the flow requirements of the hoe. Check both books to see if they match.

I don't think you will have the weight or capacity to use a hoe on that size machine. Also the hoe has to sit in a saddle or mount or it will/can bend the arms or tilt cylinders.
