Perfecta II Field Cultivator Question

Does anybody own a Perfecta II Field Cultivator?

I am thinking about purchasing 3pt hitch one.

Do you like it? Any comments or complaints?

Thanks
Tim

Here, in upstate New York, they are very popular. One almost never sees one at auction and if they are there, they are sold for very high prices. Drawn field cultivators aren't real popular here (probably partly due to cost) but Perfectas are very desireable and do an excellent job of secondary cultivation. I think you will really like the way they work.

I second everything johnpop said. I keep looking for a "cheap" Perfecta or KMC (very similiar to Perfect but with dual baskets) but alas I have not found one yet cause I have not come off the money. Around here they are a second pass implement for seedbed prep.

If you want one, you might as well pop for a new one. When I was in the machinery business here in Central NY., we didn't sell them, we just wrote the orders, delivered them and collected the money. Maintainance is minimal, (points. spring tooth on ocasion). Haven't seen much roller basket problems, unless they were in heavy rocky conditions, but no tillige tool lives long in ledgerock. Even the amish use them here in a version suited to be pulled by a forcart.

I have not seen a good used one in many years. The full name is "UNVERFERTH PERFECTA II". At least that is what we used to sell. The disk finishers around here pretty much killed the field cultivator market. West-central Iowa still has users but not as many as there used to be.

I used a Perfecta II for many years as my finishing tool. It was just a 12 foot model.
