Tire swapping question

My spra-coupe has a set of multi-rib tires on the front. They slide horribly in loose dirt. I got to looking, and the tires on it are 6.50 x 16. Will a set of 6 x 16 single rib ag front tires fit the rim? I hate to break one down just to measure the rim and find out it won't fit.

the farm i worked at a couple years ago we ran tractor tread tires all year round with no trouble with it sliding and only changed them to the muiltribs for defoliating cotton as they didnt rip as many bolls off with out the crop sheilds on. Crnt rember the model but it ran the same rims and stud pattern as a jd 9960 picker so we had a few spare rims ready for the dreaded flat tire

Probably will work. Measure the RIMS width, and see what it is. It's likely a 4-1/2" to 5-1/2" rim width, and either tire should work on that rim.

Why not buy another set of rims for the single rib ag tires and leave the others mounted for spares or whenever you need to go back to them when needed? You can never have too many spares! Armand

Well then if you got a new set of tires already, use em, they will mount to the old ones, but I've got to say like Armond, look for another set of rims. Even brand new they aren't expensive, and if this set of rubber is brand new, splurge! You'll find a job for the other pair.
