The original subject was "John Deere 290 Planter Restoration PICS".

I too am restoring a 290. I"m using the best from two machines which means I have some extra parts. I have a set of correct markers, a pair of pressed steel wheels (newly sandblasted and painted) wheel hubs, press wheel assemblies, a frame asembly, etc. Let me know what you may need. I"l located 50 miles north of St. Paul MN.

I restored my #290 in 2000 and showed it along with my 1940 John Deere H at Expo in 2001. Travis Jorde has all the decals for it when you are ready for them. I think my brother has a roll of check wire if you need it. email is open. Good luck with it.

Ooh, lucky for me. I just broke my wheel hub sprocket, and by the time I realized what was wrong, the broken pieces were nowhere to be found. So there's the wheel itself, the hub, which bolts to the wheel and ends in a hexagon (male) shape. The sprocket I broke has a female hexagon cup to fit onto the hub, and a 14-tooth sprocket. The parts list shows it as H2557b or AH844B. Do you have an extra? PM said wasn't working, so my email is [email protected]. Thanks!
