Bought this 1972 Bedford MK a couple of weeks ago. These 4x4 trucks were produced for the Army, they came with a 330cu diesel engine and 4 speed box with high and low ratio. These were capable of going most places although perhaps not very fast. Mine was decommissioned around the mid 80's when it had the 330 changed for a 500 and the four speed box changed to five. The conversions were done for purchase by the airfield who used them for snow clearence etc the 500cu being needed to give the extra power. I hope to get it sorted out and use it to haul some of my small tractors to local shows. Might even try running it on cooking oil to reduce running costs diesel very expensive over here.

That's a serious looking truck, right there. Perhaps you could stop buying frivolous things like food and electricity, so you would have sufficient money to buy fuel for it. I'm sure the Mrs. would understand.

Aren't you the fellow who used to post pictures of scenery in your country, a few years ago? Welcome back. Your posts are appreciated.

Looks like it oughtta haul a lawnmower or two... Maybe you can figure out how to get that steering wheel back where it belongs

How much weight is it supposed to be able to handle? What does your fuel cost (1.60 euro per liter here)??

I just got over one of my periodic "wanna have it" waves... thanks for wakin it up again aso soon  ... I want a unimog......

(quoted from post at 01:30:11 06/03/12) Give my boss a call then. He has six of them and I am getting sick of driving them and working on them.

Really?? The folks that have them here use them hard... Must be one of the paybacks for beatin them in two wars.... Send the junk of whatever is produced to the US  ......

I get over the urge tho every time I see the price of implements/attachments.... and having to climb into/out of them....

Probably classified as 3 ton cargo loading.
The only vehicle [I have seen on here] where the steering wheel is in the right place.
