OT— 56 years of Tornado tracks.

(quoted from post at 15:07:05 06/01/12) Very interesting.

It is Nancy. Obviously the track widths are greatly over exaggerated but it does show where the more intense tornados seem to be more frequent.

I honestly though "tornado alley" was just from Wichita Falls to somewhere in Kansas. I had no idea.

I don't know if the tracks are exaggerated or not. I
was living in Wayne twp in 1985 and that tornado was
cutting a swath a mile wide where it crossed our
farm Just google may 31 tornado and you will find
more than you care about.

1990 was- 22 years ago? The good ol days. Things got serious since then. Today was one year since the killer 40 mile 3 vortex tornado that tore thru western and central mass. The map shows other famous killers around here, which 'were' about one every 20 years or so. I found a 'tornado history project website', that give alot of details, but again, only up to 10 years ago, a different world back then. Thanks for posting this

I dunno what you folks are doing out east, but I'm glad you keep it on your half of the country. We get an occasional little twister out here on the west coast, but it's very rare.
