Engine Block Identify

How can I identify type/manufacture year of the engine block(see the photos attached), installed in a 650 Ford Tractor. TKS

The D2NL6015A number is the block casting number. If I remember right, D2 would mean it's a 1972 (or later) version of the block. There might be a stamped date code on the other side of and near the front of the block, just below the head. That would give you an exact date of manufacture. I'm guessing this is a engine that was swapped in, as 650's didn't have a diesel option.

Correct- 1972 or later "update" of the original 4 cylinder block. Ford continued to use the 4 cylinder engine for Industrial applications long after the engine was dropped from tractor use. This could be an Industrial block or it may have been a "Service Replacement" (sold as a replacement part) block.
