Stanley wide cut mower/brushhog anyone?

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the batwing style 100 inch Stanley pull type mower thats in northern tool catalog? it claims to be finish mower and brush cutter in one as 52 inch single, or with wings down finish mow 100 inches. I thought it might be a versatile tool instead of different implements. I am looking for cheap way to mow 7 acres fast. Currently using 48" Encore ZTR and Ford 650 with 72" finish mower. Any opinions or ideas?

For 7 acres you should just go with a used 6 ft mower. You should be able to knock it down in 4-5 hours or so. Stan

I use something like that except it's self propelled. It wasn't cheap but it's 11 feet wide and mows 8.6 acres per hour. My lawn is 10 acres and it averages me 1.5 hours to mow. You can use any combination of the three decks which comes in handy.

I wouldn't get too excited, apperantly they are no longer available at Northern. Maybe somewhere else?

The UPC number for the mower is: 891523000567
Copy and paste that number into Google or your search engine of choice and you will get some information on it. It appears Sears and K Mart sell it so IMHO that doesn't say much for it.

Tool collectors are looking for "OLD" Stanley
stuff, that was made when Stanley stood for
Quality, and was a standard that you could bank
on! Today"s Stanley is a company that closed it"s
plant, laid it"s workers off, and shipped all of it"s tooling to China, and is just a decal, or label, on China made stuff. I would guess that they "Sold the Rights" to use their name to some
body, and "Who knows" what quality you"re getting
from some place thats just slapping a Stanley
decal on something!
