This past weekend I answered a classified ad that was advertising a hedge trimmer, leaf blower and a grass trimmer. The young couple (30 ish) selling the items had just moved into a condo and had no yard to maintain anymore. A deal was struck and I paid cash and walked away with all 3 items.
After doing a few errands, I returned home to find a message on the answering machine from the young man. He informed me that I had paid him too much money as there were two fifty dollar bills sticking together. I returned the call and thanked him for his honesty.
Just when you don"t expect a good deed, it just appears and makes your day!

I can tell ya for sure that this would never happen to me. I mean, not just one $50 but two? No sir, don"t think I have ever had two $50"s...

It is good to find honest people, though.

I was hiking with my wife when I came upon a fresh 20 . Then up the trail I find a bank slip 20 dollar withdrawl . Girls name is on it but last name is illegible. I go to her bank and say I found some money belonging to one of your depositors. After being treated like some kind of wacko scam artist they tell me give them the money . I said no because I won't know if you give the girl her money or just pocket it yourselves. Sorta like how they were treating me. You don't trust me ,I don't trust you. I wrote my address and # and said tell the girl to give me a call and arrange to get her money. Well I guess that was not good enough for the bank because nobody ever called . Now some teenager who probably makes minumum wage is out twenty bucks. I tried.

Corey's Cobalt got broken into last February. They stole her book bag which had half of her college books and her laptop. Two days later we got a call that someone found it in a dumpster in a real bad area in Indy. Only thing was taken was a pair of gloves. Everything else was intact.

old joke school teacher asked boy if he had 5 dollars in one pocket and 3 quarters in another pocket what would he have Answer somebody elses pants on!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Aaron - Doug's got 5 50's. Look at his handle.

Good story about honest people Doug. I'da been mighty tempted to give the kid 1/2 for his honesty, after all, he could have kept it and you'da ended up with nothing.

Stopped at the bank one day a few years ago. Got out of my truck and on the ground was a large pack of bills. Walked in and went to the head office and showed them the bills. Lady asked the tellers who had just left with bundle of cash. The local electric coop had come to the bank to get change for customers and the girl had dropped the cash.
Got thanked for my honesty by the bank VP but never heard from the coop.

was up in new york city years ago and my checkbook fell out of my pocket with $300.00 cash. About 2 weeks later I got it back with all the cash still in it. Someone found it and dropped it in a mailbox post office sent it to address on my checks. I will never forget that. Last week my family was gong to FFA banquet when my 20in echo chainsaw fell out the back. As wife was turning around guy behind them jumped out of his truck picked up saw then hauled butt down a side street. Wife could not get out into traffic. There went the saw!

Was driving sown the street one day and a pick up pulls out in front of me driving out from the drive up teller. Had to lock up the brakes. As he swings out into traffic, two 20 dollar bills flies out off his dashboard. I stopped to pick them up and then flashed my headlights for him to stop. He didn't; just drove faster. Finally he had to stop at a light and I waved the money out my window and honked at him. Then he stopped. He said he was afraid I was going to kick his butt for cutting me off.

Must be an Echo thing. My wife was trimming at the Church on Saturday. I just bought a $320 Echo trimmer. She put it in back of the pickup which has one of those slick bedliners. She started home went up a slight incline. She heard it slide out. She made the block to pick it up and got there just in time to see some jerk in a Jeep speed off with it.

Was on the last day of vacation last week and sitting in front of a bar indulging with some locals while waiting on the rest of the group.... They got there and we all went the to the bus about a half mile away. Started to step on the bus and didn't have my rucksack...... Bus waited while I ran back not expecting to find it... Got there and the folks I was sitting with were gone and I figured my pack with them.... One was just coming out the door and told me my pack was with the bartender... Sure was and everything in it also...

A large pack of bills?
That would be real hard to be honest with a pile like that.......Hmmmm....Lets see now, pay off the truck, college for the kids, new siding for the house.

Years ago my mom found a purse in a department store parking lot. My mom called the number and the lady was estatic that an honest person found all of it, credit cards, cash, all the other crap in a woman's purse.

Couple of years ago I fixed a lady's car, called her and told her it was done and what the bill was, she said okay, I have to go to the bank to get your money.

She showed up an hour or so later, handed me an envelope and I gave her the keys and put the envelope in my cash drawer without opening it.

Opened it that night and found there was $200.00 more than there should be, called her and told her, she broke down and cried as she thought she had lost it somehow and had no idea how or if she would ever find it.
