Howard, several days ago you posted a pic of your Leyland with an IH 'icecream box' cab on it.I would like to put one on my Super M.You think it will work?It needs a cab to be a side door, and it has to be fairly long to 'fit'.Also,I have read that IH offered the 'Icb' on late 560s.is this true?I've never seen pics of such. Maybe I should just park the SM and use the newer cabbed tractors, but I LIKE my Super.I just need something to break the wind and provide some shade...Thanks,Steve

Anything is possible. I'd guess you would put the bottom of the door even with the transmission deck? And then build a ladder to get up to it? Why do you want a side-door? I'd think it would be easier to cut the back out of the cab and climb in that way. Three sides is all you need cuz in the winter you are bundled up for outdoors anyway. I like how the doors latch open on the ICB for summer but I wouldn't want a rear window. I need to hear my baler

If you don't mind my comments, the main problem with the side-entry idea is the location of the controls and seat on your Super M.

Park a 1256 and a Super M side-by-side and you'll notice that to get the side entry on the newer tractor, the steering wheel, pedals, and seat are all pushed way forward.

When you drop an ICB cab on a Super M, the only way to have the cab over the operator is to mount it far back on the chassis. Otherwise, your butt will be hanging out the back window!

Mounted back far enough so that you can be inside the cab, the rear wheels block the doors, and you cannot get out either side.

To get a practical side entry, you would relocate the operator's controls so that the rear of the seat is directly over the axle. It's not impossible, as someone has put an 86 series cab on a 560 before.

Why not look at somthing off an old wheatland tractor like the old molines and even the cockshutts into the 60"s. Doors are in the back. Unless you realy have your mind set on a side entry.

I had this cab on SMTA.
