Craigs List Help Please

Does any one know how to see the listings on Craigs List that have expired? There was a listing for some lumber that I was interested in on Craigs List, I called the guy and talked to him, can"t find his phone number now, and the listing has disappeared due to time. It was not removed by the seller. Thanks in advance.

Ocationally a search in google - if you can remember specific words or phrases of the ad - will turn something up. There are services that will echo or repeat ads, and some folks place their ads on other classified areas and you will pick up the ad from a different location.

This is very hit & miss, but have found a few this way.

'Search Tempest' is a CL search engine, they might hit on an old but still available ad from different cities of CL. Worth a shot.

You can find the expired listings that you have posted but not those posted by others, at least as far as I know.

Bob,

This probably a long-shot, but you can post "Want to Buy" ads on Craigslist. If the guy you talked to is still watching Craigslist, and if he still has the lumber, he might respond.

Even if it's someone else, you might be able to work a deal with whoever responds.

sometimes when you first log into new c-list categories, it will show on left column listing for back days,weeks,etc,,,when i see something that i might want to check out later, i e-mail it to my self, so i have that ad..then when i bring it back up, i know if still available or deleted by author

Yeah, when they expire, they expire. Craigslist goes after anyone that tries to use their data in any way shape or form with a bunch of programmers and if that doesn't work, lawyers, so Craigslist searches, Craigslist archives, don't last very long.

Just an idea, but I have done this before. In a normal week I only call the same 6 or 8 people. Talked to some one about some tobacco plants on craigs list. Figured I'd call back in a few days but my phone I had at the time only saved about 10 out go'n calls. I got online and looked at my phone useage. The list went wife, wife, wife, brother, wife, mom, wife, wife, cousin, wife, ect,,,, till there was a number I didn't know.

Place an ad that says "Will the person that I talked to who had the wood pleas call...." It might work.

The only person who can see expired adds are the account owner of that account. Check your phone bill or call them to see if your phone company can find it for you if you know the apprx date.

If its something that I might be interested in later, I copy the post and save it in WordPrefect, that way I have the Phone and other pertinent information
