well I posted awhile back that the power went off for 6 hours the temp in the incubator dropped to 75 degrees, total loss, nothing hatched, have 21 in the incubator now ,wish me luck, thanks

Yep, as I said. But....since you have a steady supply.....no loss. Now let"s hope the power stays on this time around!

Had the same problem with my first batch and lost power for around 3 hours and 2 did hatch but did not live. My 2nd batch is in right now and had a power loss for a little over and hour but this time I covered the incubator with a couple heavy towels and it stays very close to temp so maybe this time they will hatch. If all goes well the will hatch Saturday

I picked up a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) like those used for office computers/servers at a garage sale a few years ago. It's got large batteries in it to provide 120V AC. I run my 2 incubators off of it. Last spring the power went out at about 10PM and din't come back on until 9AM and the eggs still hatched. The only problem was it went BEEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEP all night long, but I guess it's not too much more annoying than that which comes out of the eggs.

Hov-a-bator makes a slick small forced air incubator that is 12Volt and comes with a 120V adapter but also sells a 12V power supply that you can hook up to a car battery when your power goes off.

Doesn't make as much difference as you would think. Eggs cool off every day when the hen, goose, etc goes for food and a drink. On a side note , last night when feeding the birds. One on the hens had a newly hatched chick??? Where it came from I have no idea. We had been gathering the eggs every couple of days.
