Which manufacturer has the best parts prices/value?

I have a Ford tractor and the dealer parts are rediculous. I've bought lawn mower parts at Deere and thought they were reasonable, but I haven't bought any ag related stuff from them. I've heard Massey Ferguson/Agco can be high, but what about CaseIH, Kubota, and Mahindra?

It's all gonna be the same.

Parts that can be had from other places - TSC, Dennis Carpenter, Tisco, web site like this Ytmag, etc. will be cheaper. Parts that you can only find at the dealer are going to be high.

Color won't make much difference.

I really don't think there is one set answer.

It varies alot. Sometimes one dealer can interchange the part from another.Filter, Seals and brgs. for example. I have found one place cheaper on one item and then the other place cheaper on another.

All in all I thought our local Ford /New holland dealer does really well in stocking items and the prices are around what others have.

Few prices for you. Muffler from AGCO for AC200 $108-A&I $45. Exhaust elbow-$130. Fan belts $20 for 2. Gates was $50 for 2. Kubota M6030 -tie rod ends are around $90. Rad cap is $26. Parts to rebuild brakes $600. Clutch assembly $1450. All filters I have priced are slightly cheaper from the dealers. Haven't priced/bought a whole lot lately.

if ford ag parts scare you.. wait till you buy some jd ag or industrial parts... have a soft place to fall back on so you don't get head trauma..

cost of ownership seems to me to be ford is the cheapest.. if you search for some aftermarket stuff where possible..

I had to rebuild a starter for a JD 3055 last year. Tried to sell me a new one at $700. Went to a local shop, Professional rebuild $225, & a new after market was about $275. Deere doesnt like selling parts; they just want to see more $green$ when they do!!!

$700....That is highway robbery.
But, those Deere executives need a way to pay for those expensive cars and jets.

Dealers don't really want to sell parts for old equipment. Partly because they want to sell new equipment and partly because they get sued when someone injures himself with a 30 year old tractor or baler.

I needed a waterpump for my NH skidsteer, it was priced at $225. I figured out which FordNH compact tractor used the same engine, that one was priced at $149. I found an aftermarket one for well under $100. I would like to support my local dealers, but I need to survive too.

ive got john deere and ford new holland and a little
bit of fagco they are all high went to get a new
fuel filter base for my ford and they wanted 200.00
dollars for it you can get the same cav on ebay for
30 needed a new lift pump and it was 175 needed a
new thermostat and its no longer available who the
he!! makes a thermostat obsolete

I use JD balers & NH haybines. I get sticker shock every time I go in for a new part. Multiply x 2 or 3 what I think the part is worth. At least the local NH dealer parts out old machines. They are good with those prices. So, I always ask the new price, and go for used if I need to. When buying used, I spend time to look over every thing they have and pick the best one, obviously.

Paul mentioned it below, but the first place I shop is the YT store in the left column. The people that think they own these forums are the last to patronize the people that really do own the forums.... I only had a couple issues with complex special orders on odd stuff, but over a long time now, the prices, availibility and delivery have been fine.

i would be more worried about the quality of the part before the price,,who made it and where.. as the saying goes---you get what you pay for....

Wanted some spare wheel bearings for my 311, thought I'd be clever so I got the NH numbers crossed to Timken numbers and got them from a local distributor. Went back and checked Messicks - Messicks was about 15% cheaper even after the shipping...
