OT - sealing your driveway

use a lawn blower to remve all loose debris. if the surface is pretty rough use the sanded sealer. its thicker and fills a lot of imperfections. lightly hose down the surface before applying the sealer. use the combo squeegee broom to spread it. mix the sealer good. a paddle mixer on a drill works good. i dump a couple gallons on the driveway and then squeegee it back and forthas you move across the driveway. clean up with water. prefer in the morning before it gets to hot.

good squeegee makes it go easy
all sold around here is water based
the guys that drive around and want to seal for you always use your hose to wash the drive and then add as much water as they can when you aren't looking to stretch the product out

also fill all bigger cracks first with product for that and cover lightly with sand

good luck
Ron

Good advice has already been given. I would like to add that I have found the higher priced sealer doesn't seem to last any longer than the cheap stuff. It just goes on harder and not as easy to work with. I seem to need a new coat every two years no matter what I use or how I apply it. Just my opinion.

Hello agonair,
DoubleR is right. Get the cheapest stuff you can get, dollar store roller will do just fine.
Put it on like paint, 2 tin coats are better then a tick one.
Guido.

I have seal coated commercially for years. Rub the dirty spots with big wire brush. Weed eat along edges. Fill the cracks with a cheap crack fill product. The expensive stuff isn't any better. Use a leaf blower. Finally, the sealcoat----Buy coal tar emulsion. It is resistant to oil and gas. Asphault based products are not resistant to oil and gas. Apply with a thin brush type squeege. Wait about 3 years for a second coat. It will crack and look bad if you apply too much at once. Ellis
