O/T Indy Carb Day Friday????

Anyone been to carb day at Indy? We're done planting, first time and maybe last ever, before memorial day. Thinking about heading to Indy for carb day on Friday. Any pointers, good or bad waste of a vacation day?

I have been several times but think they changed the format. The last time I went I waited in line outside to get in the infield to park and the infield was full. When we got in the practice was over.

ANYTHING to do with Indianapolis Motor Speedway, you need to BE THERE when they fire the cannon signalling the gates are open at 7 AM EDT. I usually spend the night before at my brother's house on the east side, drive in on 38th Street, turn left onto Georgetown Road, and then follow Georgetown Road to 25th and make a right onto 25th Street. About a block away on 25th, on the "Coke lot," there's usually more reasonably priced parking to be had than along Georgetown Road...but be ready to walk 1-2 blocks back to the track.

Of course, that 1-2 blocks seems a lot longer when you're walking back to your car at the end of the day, but for the price difference, it's worth it, IMHO. Of course, my kids call me "Titus," so that should tell you something.

Hope you have fun!

Do they do the Indy 500 anymore. Don't see anything in the news or sports about it anymore. I always loved to watch it on tv but since they moved the series to some pay for cable channel I don't follow it anymore. I think the Georges have ruined it.
