Ot- opinions on menards buildings.

I been thinking of putting a new storage building up.The local lumber yards all sell buildings put up by amish crews.Menards has a 60x80, 16 ft rafters on 4ft centers,12 inch overhang,7/16 osb board,18 ft roll up door,
slider side door, walk in door, side window installed for 35000.That's cheaper than the lumber yards have priced it.Just wondering if there's any difference other than the price.

I erected a Menard's post frame building and was pleasantly surprised by how complete the package was and the generally good service. The building did come from the Eau Claire yard and that is Menard's headquarters.

Menards uses a light gauge steel unless you opt for the heavier gauge. Are you sure that is the installed price? Sounds pretty cheap to me. My advice, compare apples too apples, be careful you get what you pay for.

I have a Menards barn, built by prior owner in 1986-1988. It's held up well where animal urine aint rot the metal away. No other rusty or color flaking metal. I've replaced any loose nails w/screws.

HTH...don t. ...

Are you talking about a pole barn or a garage? We have not had one on less than 8' centers and no osb yet. We are courently working on our 8th menards pole barn. This is the first one with any problems on there part, they didn't ship us the wall steel. We go with the premium pro-rib on the roof and pro-rib on walls. Travis is probly more concerned with the contractors than the building.

While doing a home renovation and trying to shop Menard's I was dismayed at the quality of the wood products they sell compared to other suppliers. I shopped other suppliers! My complete home renovation has one Menard's thing......a door from a grand opening. I will not shop with them again!

On the note of contractors that Menards and other box stores contractors they go with the cheapest bidders! Ya get what you pay for!!!!!

Pole barn,no one uses 8ft centers around here anymore.Dad put a morton up in 1969 with 8ft spacing, haven't seen a new one since with 8ft.

You might ask about Electricity, & any kind of floor. Even a rock floor is worth quite a bit of money if its thrown into the price.

Poles on 8ft. centers, the heavier steal and if you use a roll up door buy it from somewhere else. You will have as good a building as Morten for way less money. I love mine.
Also wanted to say use 2x6's on the sidewalls

Hopefully the Menards building will be far better than a Morton. In fact, just about any building HAS GOT to be better than a Morton. I am not impressed with mine at all.
