Purple Poo Propelling People Pleaser

I got the spreader painted today, and man is it ever Purple! The paint was free from work as we had too much laying around and it wouldn't fit in our flame cabinet (we got an OSHA inspection last year) so the boss man let me have it. We paint our trim presses that color.

I just gotta paint the rims tomorrow. Have them in primer, just gotta go with a glossy top coat so they clean up easier

I put 3-4 coats on the wood and it still could have used a couple more by the looks of it. For what it is though, it'll be just fine...

The cattle won't care what the color is, but just don't let the neighbors see it LOL! If the paint is free, who cares what the color is. The free paint will enable you to get a few more free years of use out of it. Jim

that ought to be a conversation starer around the neighborhood ! just tell them you had a little ford blue and a little IH red left and this is what it came out. just can't beat free no matter what it is.

Doubt if there's any room for pink paint in the cabinet either. Would really set off the wheels if you can talk Boss Man out of a pint or so........ ; )

It's kinda funny watching my dad shake his head every time he looks at it though. He's so used to the red it used to be, he keeps mentioning "maybe we can paint it red over the purple? It should cover quicker with that underneath....." He can't help it, he'll learn to like it eventually.

I've got an old Electric running gear I think I'm gonna give the same treatment at some point this summer. I've had it torn apart for several years after having to make some new components for the steering and such, and it's never gotten back together yet.

That'll be for later on though. Gotta get a new wheel bearing for one of the hubs, then repack the rest and put new seals in. I left them off while painting, so maybe I'll spray those red just so he can still have SOME red on it.... 8)

The color might cut down on the can I borrow it? requests and if it was
ever stolen it should be easy to find- might be the only purple poo
spreader in the country,

Gee with taht paint job I was thinking maybe you could help out with a little problem here in MN.......seems that there spreader is just the right color for a football team.....ROFL,,,, maybe load that team up and spread it in another state!

Oh Donovan! You MUST stick a vikings sticker or two on that thing!! SOOO fitting esp in Wisconsin Packer country! We all know the vikes are full of shlt and this only proves it!! LOLOLOL!!!!!

Very nice job- should be good for the duration.

I wasn't really down with the purple, and was going to suggest Pop might want to apply a few cans of Rattle Can Red when you weren't looking.

But my northwest compatriot Chris(WA) has an excellent suggestion. Get a couple of Vik decals, and it makes the whole thing just right.

I love it! Free is my favorite kind of paint. I used to pick up miss mixed paint at Home Depot long ago for a buck a can so I've ended up with some odd looking things around here over the years too.
With the chair in the bed, maybe you could pick your favorite Poll E Tish Un and take him or her for a parade ride!

Thanks Donovan for showing it. Now I can finally fess up that I painted my cement mixer baby blue. Same thing, free paint, figured it was better than rust.

That's a great color in my opinion, my '96 F150 is a close variant to that with the aluminum alloy wheels, always thought it was nice to look at, maybe not a match to your tractors, still flings the manure regardless LOL !

I normally don't like purple, but I have to admit - it looks sharp. Nice job!

You could fill that up with political promises, but you'd probably blow out all the tires. . .

Looks fine to me. Besides, if it ever gets stolen, won't be hard to find. Got enough to do the rest of your equipment?

I've got about 12-13 gallons left. I've got a couple things I want to paint yet, but I don't know if I'm gonna be able to use it all up....

My brother even had a 2 part white epoxy in his garage free from his work (really old and they cleaned house) and it sprayed out really nice. It's just a little shade creamy, so it's not stark white white white. Actually looks good on the wheels next to the purple spreader. Wish I had some rims ready that I want to paint up for my running gear. I would've sprayed those while I was at it.
