Governor acting strange.........

On my H Farmall, that is. Not in the state capitol.

Engine seems to be stuck on about one third throttle, no matter where the throttle lever actually is.

Took the top and side covers off the governor, and with the throttle lever disconnected, the governor worked free and easy across the entire range. Started the engine, and by working the lever on the governor by hand with the throttle lever disconnected, engine would speed up, and idle all the way down, like it should.

Put the covers back on and hooked up the throttle lever and it was back like it was, stuck on about one third throttle.

Something strange going on. If it works like it should by hand with the throttle lever disconnected, why won't it do the same with the thottle hooked up? What's the difference between my fingers moving the lever on the governor or the throttle lever moving it?

Just guessing here, but can you move it by hand with the throttle hooked up? Is the throttle lever actually moving the lever on the govenor that you could move by hand?

Sounds like your throttle linkage is not adjusted correctly. Has there been any work done on it lately???

I can't tell you how sorry I am that I said that. It didn't convey in the least what I was thinking. I am so sorry I said That!!!!

Russ then you can pay everyones taxes if the unions win. No one will be able to stop them if he is recalled.

I had that same problem. Spring looked good. Until I took it out and saw that it had cracked. It would stretch at the one end because the steel had split. It was hard to see but replaced the spring and never had a problem since. Worth a shot. And donjr I concur on our governor... Get him out...

I'll check that spring this afternoon and play with it some more.

Thanks for the response.

Life's little hick-ups, we love you for it, Russ!! Made my day, better, evening that is!!!

The 'loose screws' in Wisconsin termed Falk, Barret, Etc. from the losing party last election. That's about as far as I can risk the thread POOF monitor- but I did vote for Huber in the primary couple days back. RN.
