cement mixer

I have a mortar mixer that I want to paint and would like to get as much cement off of it as posible. What would you guys do to clean this up. Thanks much

put a face shield (at least good glasses) and try a torch on the inside.... Might pop the stuff right off. Seems like cement places have a kind of acid to take it off but could be pricey and a liiiiittle bit corrosive....

Just knock off the loose and paint over it. You can set a lawnchair with a twelve pack and stare at it & imagine all kinda neat picks :roll:

We use straight vinegar at work to get the cement off of the paint of the vehicles. chris

An old trick to clean the barrel of the mixer was to light an old car tyre inside it and start the motor! Not very enviromently friendly of course and it won't clean the frame. bead blast or needle scaler are probably the best options.

a scraper and diluted hydrochloric acid, apply with a broom.
add acid to water not the other way.
