My 1850 workin' spring dirt

Here is a pic of my 1850 workin' dirt a few days back. I bought this 20' Brady field cultivator from a friend of mine ridiciously cheap. Works great, I just need to get the spring tooth harrow mounted on the back yet. Oli pulled it real nice in 4th low around 6"-8" deep. I didn't get time to put the duals on her. I wanted to see if she could pull and it worked out really good. I don't have a lot of money tied up in equipment, but what I have is paid for and it works for me. Anybody else have some spring tillage pics to share? I really enjoy seeing other equipment in the field in various regions.

I love the look of those shinny plows and soil without rocks!
If I did that on our place, I"d spend the rest of my life pickin" rocks up.

And by the time you got all the rocks picked, you would probably have a place 1000 feet lower in elevation than when you started if it's anything like my place (Belgrade).

Looking at that pic, and looking beyond the paint color, I was struck by the resemblance to an 856 Farmall I once owned.

Was there ever a connection between Oliver and IH?

Hey CNT,
Thanks for the compliment. I really wish I had a 1070 in the 1850's place instead....Someday...Someday. I keep telling myself it will happen someday. Thanks for your pics. I always enjoy seeing your progress.

Ande,
Yes I did. I did have a smile on my face. Good to see 40+ year old machinery still getting the job done today. Thanks for the comment.
