Cleaning up around home

Corn is planted, had a 2 inch rain a couple days ago so it's a little wet for most of my projects so I spent the afternoon cleaning up the yard. Cut out a bunch of old cedars to make the place look a little cleaner.

One good thing about cedar trees is that they don't sprout from the root once they've been cut.

Use them to start your burn pile and put everything else on top of them.

Nice looking home and yard.

Eastern Red Cedar are considered evasive here in (western)OK: They lower the water table, reduce biodiversity by crowding out other plants, trees, reduce wildlife, and once the fire gets up into the trees, ambers fly for hundreds and thousands of feet in the "right" wind conditions, bad deal. Not too bad to use some of the trunks as fence posts or "in-betweens", but ERC does not last as long as other cedar posts, so somewhat limited even for this kind of application.
