OT— Old pics from NY

Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing. Its abundantly clear that there was no OSHA when some of those photos were taken. I'm not going to say thats a good or bad thing. I have my own thoughts on them, and am sure others do.

I read an article somewhere that said that there is still a 4 square block of NYC that is DC powered. Thomas Edison was a DC freak and did not like AC. He campained against AC in favor of DC. As a matter of fact, when they executed a prisoner using AC, not that he personally cared, but he tried to use that to pursuade people that using AC in their homes could do the same to them, so what they really needed, was safer DC. So, as the story went or goes, there is a 4 square block of NYC that is DC powered as monument to Edison, and the DC lightbulbs, TVs, washing machines, and all else DC can be purchased by the folks living within those 4 square blocks from Edison the power guys, not Thomas Alva. True.

That dead guy in the hall? Vito Corleone did that. Godfather 2.
I wonder how many people died when that elevated hit the building? That was about when wooden cars all over were regulated to milk train second rate jobs... no wonder eh?
December 3 and guys are painting a bridge in their Sunday best... I suppose the boss didn't care if the paint didn't dry till April... no one was looking..
thanks for posting that!

I bet you got some sort of anti virus firewall on your computer, so it won't show the mainpage. I hope someone else that knows more can help you, I can't help me!!

Sure would not want to drop my paint brush up there
painting those cables. But I would not be up there
hanging on by my fingers and toes. Brave men working
to support their families.

Sounds like that ended a few years ago - interesting sidenote, anyway!:
