Hey folks, anyone that uses Tposts also use the "wedgeloc" stuff for corners, ends, and gates????

Just got shot down on using wood posts at a couple places.

Is The Wedgeloc stuff worth bringing home???
Pro's and con's to gate, corners, and ends will be appreciated.........
 
They work but are kind of expensive. The advantage to you would be that the steel posts would be easy to remove if you no longer have the pasture/ground. A plus is that the installation is easier than digging/driving wood post.

So I would get it in writing that any improvements you install are yours. This way if you make a nice pasture and then JOE blow wants to rent it they will have to pay for the fence and such or you can just remove it and let them figure it out.
 
I used the wedge locs when I fenced in my yard (to contain the dogs). Worked quite well, as long as the fencing is under tension. I didn't want to use wood corner posts because of the glacial till here. Every time I would try to make a post hole I'd hit a rock. Steel posts will bend around the rocks. For corners I drove 8 ft t-posts at least 3 ft deep. Like I said, this was for dogs, I don't know if they'd work as well for containing horses and cattle, but I don't see why not.
 
I used a few. They can come apart if the cows rub on them. I now just weld a U bolt at an angle on brace post ends instead of using wedgelocks.

Wouldn't have to worry about it there.... Someone would steal the posts and fence and all my other stuff :roll:
 
The tposts are nice but expensive. One time deal tho.... Just a little worried now since Big Fred says they have to have tension....... Guess I'll just get enough for one pasture and try it.......
