has anyone filled tires with water just to use for a short time. I need some weight on one of my tractors for about a week and my back is so messed up I am not about to throw wheel weighs around right now.I thought i could fill them with water then drain in a week or so when done.

You do not have to take the water out or add anti-freeze. You are just unable to move the tractor while frozen and it takes it a bit of time to tha wafter the weather warms. I have done that and on obe occasion I drove it and it really rode rough!

my '62 Ford 2000 has had plain water in one tire since it was new...aint hurt a thing and i use it year round here in south central Tejas...and before the smarta$$es say something...the other tire has had water in it since it was replaced too.

Around here (central NC) I run across tires that have filled with plain water quite frequently, although I recently purchased a zero-turn mlower (Hustler) that had the rear tires filed with calicum solution which I immediatly drained out (one of the rear tire was a tubeless). I refilled the tires with plain water to which I plan on adding antifreeze when i get around to it. (Calcium sure does make good weed killer. Maybe the grass will grow back eventually)
