Anyone getting their electricity through solar panels installed by Solar City.

They can install and maintain panels for 20 years with me paying a fixed amount every month, which is less than my electric bill would be.

I have a co-worker who did this without any complaints, but has anyone else done this?

Don't come to Australia if you want it.We prefer to export our Solar Power experts and put a TAX on carbon.
You do get the Govt, you vote for....unfortunately..

You have NO gurantee they will even last 2yrs sounds like another ripoff deal i suppose they are from Calif.

Have a look at the FIT and micro FIT programs in Ontario. Compare the 2009 to 2011 rules vs. the 2012 rules.
The government is going broke supporting the solar and wind programs to satisfy the green weenie abundant voters.
The FIT programs have not been canceled due to the political fallout but the rules have been changed. To make installation other than a few panels on urban roofs nearly impossible.
On the last page of the rules hidden in the definitions. There is a clause to allow the government to change the rules, payment and even refuse connections and payments to 100% legal and compliant systems.

B&D, the right to change the rules (your last paragraph) is nothing new. I signed up with NCRS' stewardship program 2yrs ago and in there it says that payments are subject to $ available, but I have to keep my end of the bargain up for the 5 yrs., regardless if the govt. can pay me or not. Same deal one takes a chance on.

BTW, if you feel that the govt pleases the "green weenie abundant voters", go and vote. If enough folks dislike it, the next time the govt. will try to please the "ranting, raving, conservative voters" LOL.....That's Democracy at its best!!

McGuinty and his band of bible banning, start of legislature prayer banning, pro *bortion, pro arts, pro welfare, pro native rights green weenies. Free needle exchange, free methadone clinics too.
Woe betide the poor smuck who is a straight white male protestant that hunts and eats red meat. No support and considered the cause of all societies ills.
The liberals were reduced from a majority of 70 vs 35 to a minority of 53 vs 52 in the 2011 election.
If you look at the voting map, the liberals were elected only by the cityit's. Suburbia, rural and some northern voted conservative.
Almost got rid of the pr*ck.
At least our new MPP was one of the hottest girls in my public school, high school and 4H club. Smart cookie too b.t.w.
