Calling for frost tonight

Well yesterday I tilled the garden again and then planted a bunch of stuff like Okra, peppers and Tomato's and now they are calling for frost tonight. I would set up the sprinkler but it rained last night so I may have to find some plastic etc to cover things up. Oh well guess that is just how it goes some times

Can you find any Water Walls where you are?
I always stop at garage-yard sales and buy old sheets and tablecloths for that purpose. Hope we don't get any, the wind with the storms that tore up wichita here knocked most of the fruit off of my trees. that's about all the damage we had from that storm thankfully.
good luck tonight, Kent

Yea, pretty much straight north bout 10 mi near Furley, I only sit on 5 acres but still love tractors, got 2 farmalls(1F12runs 1 F14parts and 1 ford 671Dworker)used to have a 8n. go to Winfield twice a year, once on the 3rd weekend in august for the K&O steam tractor show and then the 3rd weekend in Sept for Bluegrass. it's a real nice oldtime feeling kind of town, i like it down there but the wife liked it better up here, so here we are.

I guess I should add that I used to live in Mosouri too. Lived in Rolla when the youngest daughter(will be 29 tomorrow) was born. lived there 2 years and just love the Ozarks. I would say U R lucky 2 b there. Really appreciate all of your posts and pics. Thanks.

I have been tempted to put stuff out early here with all this warm weater. So far I have resisted, but will be looking at the 10 day forcast after the 1st and may go for it.

Last day for frost here is the 15th. They are forcasting frost the next few nights here (north centeral ohio). A few years ago we had 4" of snow on May 4th that wiped out nearly all the corn planted mid April due to a warm dry spell. They planted early because by May 15 it may not dry out again unitl July.

I have lived all over the U.S. and lived more place before the age of 5 then years old. Lived in Winfield for 5 or 6 years then went north to Leigh NE then to Athens TN and then Cleveland MS and then into the Navy which had me all over. Have lived here in Missouri the lake of the Ozarks area nmow for the past 32 years as of July

Or cover it up with some straw, which you can rootch(swabish word) back away from the plants, in question, when the frost danger is gone.
