I got the chance to use a NH 160 today, First time I ever used one, place I work for doing the lawn maintenance has that and a JD 4300 or something tractor with a sims cab. Deere wouldent give them a factory cab with a gear drive I was told. I don't like the Deere as much as my ford 1720, anyway this skid steer is a 03 or 04 and only has 248 hours on it seemed like a nice machine, except the seatbelt must be on to start it, ect,. Anyone know how many horsepower they are? Dident have a turbo, and I couldent get back opened to see engine, but battery side cover was missing. They also have a loftness snowblower for it.

42 hp gross. It's basically the same machine as the 170 minus the turbo.
After you do a face plant or two with it your forehead will appreciate the seatbelt.

Wow, pretty small engine. I liked it thougt. I just thought it was a bigger engine. There was a switch by my left leg sitting in the cab, any idea what that is for? The cab door was also not on it, but I see it had heat in it.

Not right off.... unless it's a switch for high flow hydraulics or something. If it's not a heater control (which I doubt down there) it's probably hydraulics related. That machine is too small to have 2-speed travel.

Thanks rod, looked to me like the hydraulic flow stuff was on the forward reverse sticks, on/ off than in out ect.
