Just seems to be about $15 to much.

Anyway, I thought this thing was better than sliced bread. I just did a google search for "4 way chuck" and found several for around the $5 mark.

I figured I'd post in case anyone else was in the same boat as me and down to one chuck and trying to make it fit where it doesn't.

I have several of the four way chucks. I bought the higher priced one for several reasons.
1) They are heat treated harder than the cheap ones. The cheap one may strip out easily.

2) Also the first one has a magnet on the side so you can store it on the side of your drill press or tool box. I have mine on the side of the drill that way I can find it when I need it.

Back when I worked for Douglas Aircraft in the early 60's they had chuck-less drills that didn't slip when drilling. Now you can't buy a chuck-less drill that will hold a drill bit without slipping, at least I haven't ever found one that didn't slip after it got a few weeks old.

I like them bananas!

Them bananas may make a monkey out of you..... I've bought several that look like these and a couple double ones. None of them fit my drills. Either a mm too big or small enough to not work.......... Haven't seen or tried an expensive one... I'd like to find a keyless chuck that holds also.....

You can still get good keyless chucks from Metabo. Don"t slip any easier than a keyed chuck and don"t bind like some of the cheaper keyless chucks do.

do you know if they fit other drills like bosch, makita, and no names?

I've never had a problem with bits slipping, and my drills are not exactly top-of-the-line either. I could never go back to using a chuck key - what a pain!

HF occasionally has them on sale, 3 bucks or so, no magnet. Little epoxy and a magnet, and you get the same thing!

I"m always misplacing drill chuck keys,(yea,I
know, I need one of those rubber "keepers") so
I got one of those cheap multiple size ones from
Harbor Freight, What a mistake, What a piece of
crap! It doesn"t fit anything correctly, what a
waste of money!

...and don't buy a bench vice from HF ether, unless you want a boat anchor...or two small boat anchors. :?
