They sure keep an eye on your health here in this home, Got a group thst take care of your medicine , see that you take it on time.No worry "did I take my medicine and they see to ordering from pharmacy and they monitor how you are feeling, came in the other day and took my weight as they do every week. "How you been feelng?" We think you need to see your Doctor. We will call and set up an appointment. So son loads me up in car so off we go to hospital for a Ultra-Sound. Know my only experience with Ultra Sound was checking those cows to see if they sre pregnant and I did not feel that was possibillity. Found out they were checking the old Gall-Bladder.So after a couple of days they told me my son and I had an appointment with a surgeon. Yup! going in Thursday the 19th to have it and any stones removed.Going to be Lapaoscopic.Claim three little holes blew me full of gas and take them out. Will go back to the home the same day. Any of you had this procedure? Darn Greasy cooking wife never cooked thing greasy. Sure hope it cuts down on the Stool Time and gut ache time. I am sure I blew enough gas to fill ome of the big oil-gas tanks here in Cushing. Hope me Luck.

wish you luck and speedy recovery sir. had the scope done on knee and shoulder, 3 lil holes, in and out same day. amazing. hope the mrs is doing good too. take care.

Had mine removed last fall. Had 4 holes instead of three and went home the same day. No where near as much heart burn since they took it out.

I had my gallbladder out. Hurt like heck everytime one of those stones would try to get out through the bile duct, enough to send me to the ER. 6 days after they made those 3 little holes in me I was back running combine.

Good luck, hope all goes well

"sounds" -- literally...LOL

Good luck on the 19th and check in with us here when you get back from the surgery! Ralph in Oklahoma.

you will do fine, I know a few people who have had A little sore for a couple days then better than they felt in a long time. Some people have to watch what they eat after it though as some foods seem to go right through ya. Good luck.

A gall bladder attack is REALLY PAINFUL! If they say you have gall stones, yet never had an attack, you must be doing something right or are incredibly lucky.

About 10 years ago, my attack caused me, for the first time in my life, to have my wife drive me to the emergency room in the middle of the night, as I knew there was something terribly wrong. I was worried that it was a heart attack or a blocked intestine. On the way to the ER, I felt a little better, and I was able to walk in. Once they got me on a gurney and looked me over, they set an IV and gave me a shot of morphine. In a few minutes, I felt fine and wanted to go home. They told me they thought the pain would soon come back, and they sent me for an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech looked at the results and told me that since he was not a Doctor, he could not diagnose my problem, but he bet me that I would soon have an operation to remove my gall bladder.

I was admitted into the hospital that night and the surgeon removed my gall bladder by the laporiscopic method at about 6AM. Later in the morning, the surgeon told me that my gall bladder had been completely packed with stones of sizes as small as fine sand to marble sized stones. He believed my attack, which was the first I ever had the misfortune of having, was probably caused by a medium sized stone blocking off the bile duct and causing pressure in the gall bladder.

I had 4 little incisions less than an inch long. I was released from the hospital about 1PM and was told to take it easy for a couple of days. I never had ANY problems from the surgery or from the gall system again. I would say that it was the easiest surgery I have had in my life.

My Mom and several other relatives had gall bladder surgeries much longer ago than mine. They all had to have the big surgery involving opening the belly wide and leaving a 6" to 8" scar. With wounds that large, they were in the hospital several days and it took many days until they could resume normal activities.

In comparison, my situation was a "piece of cake". If they say you need the surgery, and they think they can use the scope method, I recommend getting it over with. My gall bladder attack was one of the most unpleasant and painful experiences I ever had. Good luck!

I was in pain, thought I was having a heart attack. The wife took me to the ER, and they informed me I was having a gall baldder attack. My gall bladder was removed a few weeks after that. Was not bad at all. You will do fine. Stan

Hope you have good results with your surgery Gitrib. No one looks forward to having surgery .
Are you from the Cushing area ?. We were in Cushing yesterday. live about 30 min. from those tanks. clint

I have somewhat of a sideways smiley face on my right side about 8" long where they took mine out
I was in for 3 days then home rest for 8 weeks.
Dr. must have been running a special that day as seemed like the whole floor was recovering gall bladder patients he even gave us our stones mine looked like a little dog tu*d 1 1/2" long white and brown speckled. nicest one I saw he took out of a lady was real pretty emerald green and looked like a little Christmas tree.
We will be praying for you.... guess it's a piece of cake now .

Would have made history if you had a positive reading??
Saw one of those ops on Tv. removing a Prostate.
Best wishes. Better procedure than opening the lid and rummaging in there like a jumble sale.

That would take your mind off of the pain.

Friend of mine had the operation. Sore for a couple of days. But now back at work doing fine. Good luck with yours.

Make sure you ask DR for a copy of the DVD they record while doing the procedure. It is neat watching how it is done and getting to see inside yourself. I have seen my liver, intestines, internal fat and the actual surgery. Also tell the DR to make sure he sews up the hole in your navel very well. Mine did not and I now have a small navel hernia to deal with. I was able to get around in a couple of days.
The DR said my ultrasound looked like a gravel pit with all the stones.

I had my Gall Bladder out back in 1997. Supposed to be there at 6am to get started. It had snowed overnight I was ontime but Doc couldn't get out of his driveway. He showed up about 9:30, went right to work and I was on my way home about 5:30Pm. First checkup I had with him after op, he showed me a picture of my liver and asked if I had ever worked around chemicals. Yes, I was a commercial applicator. He didn't say stop, and I worked at it for another 3 years. Never had a problem with it since. They check my liver once a year now mostly because of other meds I take.
You should have no problems with it. A little pain the first nite, but no problems after that.
