O/T Messing with a scammer

I have advertised for a motorcycle part for my 36 Indian. I get a lot of e mails from out of country people, who I know don't have the part. I am having fun with this guy. Is there anyway they can harm my computor just by e mailing? He wants my address I want to give him the address of the FBI. I also don't want a big black car show up in my yard. This happened one time. I never knew what they wanted. Should I just stop now? Stan

Why waste you time dealing with criminals.Plenty of other things that are better to spend your time on.

I think Nancy's got the ticket on this one. There are scams now where all they are after is your email address, so they can sell it to other scammers, and if you respond, they have it.

I must admit I even messed with Bongo Kabongo, Clown Prince of Timbuktu, back when the Nigerian scam was a novelty. But anymore, anything you do can put you in a bind that you haven't even conceived of, so its best just to ignore them.

Right now I can't think of any thing more waste of time or use less than playing with a scamper. All the bright ideas that people think of, they probably see a dozen times a day all ready.

What kind of part are you looking for?? There is an Indian MC club in my area and my 2nd family as a kid are all grown up now and can't get away from antique bikes. I can pass the info on and let you know if anything turns up......

I agree better things to do. As Nancy said you could end up on a email list for the world to use.I hit delete when I get one.

There is a site, 419eater.com, where people play games with scammers and post their results. These people mainly just want to waste the scammers time, but the their ultimate prize is to get the scammer to send them a picture of themselves, preferable one that is very embarrassing. In extreme cases, scam baiters have convinced scammers to do very dangerous things, such as travel to other countries where they're likely to get killed.

It's not my cup of tea. I have no sympathy for scammers, but there is no good that can come from dealing with these people in any way.
