gonna plant some timothy/alfalfa curiuos what pound per acre you guys would use

Right around 16-20# per acre.

Just planted 5 acres of alfalfa with oats.Used 300 #, of 19-19-19 fertilizer, 100# oats and 30# alfalfa per acre . 15# per acre recommended,but I doubled that rate because of the heavy soil and about 10% of the seed probably wont germanate.Maybe not right, but thats how I did it! LOL! Doug

Just did some for a friend and he was told 18 lbs. Alfalfa and 8 lbs of Timothy per A.

Replanted 27 acers. they called for 15-20# here at 7190' elev. Irrigated, But we are looking at a very dry year, so I planted at a rate of 12# of the grass seed, and then will plant again in June with Alfalfa and some of the same grass seed. This was done with a no-til drill. I'm a farmer so it is just another day of gambling.
