Where is the sun for heat?

Son and daughter got a lot of seed potatoes planted sat. Was going to do the new Burbank Russets yesterday -then today, Yeaa right. Cold cold gloomy. Son fired up big red and then followed the tractor plowing with the Troy built tiller. Garden area looks great, now if the weather only gets real(sun and warm) just might get most of the garden in.Plants won't go in until the weather (stays where it should) patterns hold for warm. Son bought a seed wheel for planting as his knees and back gives out after hrs on em during planting, Jokingly referring our garden as "BLOODY MARY GARDEN" potatoes, fermented into Vodka, Tomatoes for the juice and of course Store bought celery. After a few, who cares what gets done. lol. Was wondering about potatoes as making fuel for every day use. replacing gasoline etc. If Russians can ferment potatoes for vodka, and it's highly flammable, why not replace gasoline? wish the weather breaks soon,as it is supposed to get nice Wednesday. lots of sun, Wisconsin growing season is short enough. Oh By the way the peach tree weathered the winter. Green leaves starting. Hope it keeps growing. Love peaches. If you Georgians have an over abundance of peaches, send em my way LOL. Regards LOU.

Jimmy ,Thanks for your reply. Basicly what I wanted to find out the folks who had good weather to plant their gardens, We sure don't. I know rushing into planting will destroy seeds, plans etc.Tomorrow weather should be O.K for the rest of the new spuds. Your WV weather has got to be better then this cold even though you folks have to water. AGain Jimmy Thanks. I was just wondering what some of the folks are going through. Regards LOU.

Lou, what kind of peach tree did you plant up there, and what zone are you? We have good luck in a SW Iowa zone 4 with Reliant. Some of the older orchards have another small white peach that does well. Grandpa had one, but it had died by the time I took over the family orchard. Reliant makes good jam, besides eating off the tree.

Thanks for the reply. The peach tree is called CONTENDER. One is grown up in superior Wis. WE Ordered two. One died last year, so have a replacement comming. Son is puting in Burbank Russets today.4/11. Temp is +40o.SIL drives truck and is supposed to bring me back Paches (if available)from down south. Looking forwad to hearing from him this week. Regards LOU.
