i resently bought a 574 diesel tractor.how much would it cost to add a remote on it and what all would i have to buy to do it...

IH tractors of that era have a pretty complicated hydraulic system- best bet is to talk to a CaseIH parts guy, or try to figure it out from the parts books. Here's the site:

It would be pretty expensive to add a factory valve to that tractor. Your best bet would be to go a scrap yard and see if you can find a used valve (although some of the scrapyards want an arm and a leg for that kind of part also).
Another alternative would be to go to IH and buy a "power beyond plate" ($100 last time I bought one) and then add an aftermarket auxillary control valve and plumb your rear outlet(s) from that.
Anyway you look it at - it won't be cheap.

We needed 2 remotes on our 574 gas at work once for our tater windrower. I made a rig with an old 4 stick harvester valve that I bolted to the right fender. (open center like a log splitter) I plumbed it into our single remote on the back of the tractor with a few hoses and couplers. Hoses ran over top of the upper arms for 3 point lift. Created 4 sets of remotes (ability to control 4 separate cylinders)directly above the 3pt. top link. Not pretty but its still working after 8 years of relentless use. We found it was very handy with loader AND remote capability. Have to wire the factory remote to be on all the time. Kippster

Was just on ebay... You folks don't seem to have access (or nobody wants to sell them once they get them) to the Bosch stackable joysticks (?)... It's a block that you T into the pressure line and run a return line back to the reservoir. Then you can add up to 4 (I believe) joysticks of either one way or 2 way. Real simple setup. Block price can be iffy (50-100 bucks???) because you have to find a used one, but the sticks run at 100 bucks for single and 130 or so for two way new.
If you can't find anything else and are interested, I can see what I can find on this side. Just saw a shot tractor at the local dealer that may have the setup on it I can ask about.

email me if you want.
