picked up one 2 days ago for 25 bucks..... Best I could find as far as weight and looks...... Asked the guy when I was buying it about the airlock (??) and he said "not with this one"......

Boy was he ever right!!!!! Greased a couple fittings and went for another... The top busted and the handle came off... Big airbubbles in the potmetal head and it just didn't hold....
Took it back and the guy said it was just a freak but I got my money back and am still looking.....

nything made in the US? Or a brand that you folks use that you swear by???
I'm open to a used one off ebay if someone can suggest something....

Dave going to be $ 169.00 but a LINCLON battery operated is the best investment I have ever made. We run a cat trackhoe and the front boom alone has 26 fittings. That thing chaned 45 minutes down to about 15.. As for manual we use the throw away , get lost, cheapies form harbor freight. I think the last thre I bought was around $ 10 bucks. Leave them in all the tactors and stuff not that they get used that much but sure do like that battery one. Have Air oporated on two service trucks and thinking about going to electric on the trucks.

I have used Lincoln grease guns for years with good luck. The current model is:

Lincoln Lube Heavy Duty Pistol Grip Type Grease Gun 1134

I have been getting them from Ohio Power tools for about $37-40. There are cheaper models but these last real well.

For your air problem. Are you storing your grease tubes standing with the plastic cap up and the tear out ring down??? If you are not and let them set the other way or lay them on the side then the grease tube has air bubbles in it from incorrect storage. The tubes are not completely full on the side they will settle and have an air pocket clear down the side. On the wrong end they will have a 1/2-3/4 inch air pocket right against the pump head when you install them.

You might look at the ones this place sells.(zeeline.com)I bought a pistol type from a discount store maybe 30? years ago and I"m still using it. I"m starting to think it"s going to out last me! Has a good stiff plunger spring and rarely air locks.Don"t know if the new ones are as good as this, but this one has been a dandy.

The old lincon greaseguns were great but the new battery chargers are crap they work one time and burn out we have had 4 finally wired one up to hook up to truck battery

I have used an Alemite full sized pistol grip for years with complete satisfaction. It has an air bleed button on top. Also I put a 2 foot long hose on it.

Just ordered one from amazon (free shipping) along with a holder so it don't put in a position to get ran over again
Guilty on the grease storage. Just stood them up the way they should be, maybe OK by the time the gun gets here.......
