subscribe to a magazine I get from California, get about every other issue with the front cover damaged. Would it do any good to complain, has anyone else had this problem? 8 bucks, I would like to get it in good condition. Thanks in advance.

Sometimes they will put yours in an envelope if you tell them you collect the magazine and it is being recieved in bad condition. I geuss it depemds on the magazine publisher. They may even send you a few back issues if you let them know whick ones got messed up.If you don't tell them then they don't know about it.

Maybe that's 'cause your mailman has had it in his bathroom reading rack the last 3 weeks... my cousin works for the PO, he said no mailman ever subscribed to anything.... just look around the sorting room and remember to bring it back.... someday...

They encase them in plastic here, gee you are behind the times, slipping.
Had many a good read when I was a Postman.
They are only second class mail. expect anything.

the Post Office has spent several BILLION on auto sorter machines and the are hard on magazines esp on high volume days

Yes, I have received several mags and catalogs with torn covers in the past year. Haven't said anything yet, didn't figure it would do any good. If the Post Office goes through with all the changes that they are talking about, I'm afraid it will only get worse.

I used to get a magazine where the back several pages were chewed up. Finally found the places where the plastic strapping held a package together - seemed the publisher shipped a bundle of the magazines to the same zip code, and mine was on the bottom. No piece of cardboard, or anything to protect my magazine, it took a beating. Guess the publisher got tired if hearing from me, changed their packaging

It won't hurt to complain. The Two Cylinder Club tried sending their magazine out without a plastic wrap. Only lasted one issue.
They had so many complaints the plastic wrap was reinstated.

Bill.

I've had this more and more, in the last year or
two..It's the Automatic sorting machines..and i
feel that BY LAW, the post office SHOULD BE
REQUIRED to provide a NEW CLEAN MAGAZINE !
