Fordson Major Diesel

I'm looking at a fordson major deisel. Are most all parts avalble? How dependable are these tractors?

no, parts can be difficult to find in the US..However when the 1965 and new series came out, they still were marketed for a short time as the earlier "major" series. If its one of the newer models, it could be a different story. there are a lot of majors in england where they were built.

Thanks Guys. That what I needed to know. I'll go back to plan A. Looking for a 600 threw maybe 3000 or 4000 tractor. Having trouble getting on and off my farmall 450.

Thousands of Fordson Majors north of the border, and parts are much easier here. I ran one on the rake, hay wagon and elevator from 2002 to last year. For $1500, I've loved mine.
All that being said, you could find something better, newer, with live pto.

If having on and off problems currently, you will have the same with a Fordson.Give it a miss.
I have 3. They need another step lower down for the not so young. On my list of to do's.

We had one back in the sixties, You can do alot better for the money.
