Question: Radial versus Standard Tire Tube Patches?

Can someone educate me on tire tube patches. What is the difference between the radial patches and the standard patches? What happens if you use a radial patch on a tube in a bias ply tire? Also the patch kit (non-radial) I bought today has 3/4", 1" and 2" diameter patches - when does one ever use a 3/4" diameter patch? The tire tube I am patching is an 8N front, bias ply, 4:00 x 19 and I was planning to use the 2" diameter patch which is my standard practice. This radial thing just has me puzzled. Thanks in advance.

The radial patches will work in a bias, but not
vice/versa.Throw away the 3/4 and 1" patches-or use
them on your bicycle.forget about those cheap "patch
kits".Go buy a box of 2"radial tire patches and a
can of tire cement from NAPA.

If you haven't bought rubber cement lately you are in for some serious sticker shock. NAPA squeezed me $19 for a can, and now they only put 12 patches in the box not 20.
