The threads on my h manifold are shot. Otherwise it is ok. These threads can be retapped. Is there a tool available to retap these threads. My other option is to insert the exhault pipe and weld in place. Thank You.

Some people say to take an pipe that is the right size and slowly screw it in and or also you can cut a couple slits in that pipe about 1/2 inch long and screw it in. Most of the time unless the treads are 100% gone doing that works fine. If real gone you can get some exhaust pipe puddy stuff and sort of glue it in done that before also

they can be retapped or chased if you have some thread left and its not all burnt out. may need to visit your machine shop for the tapping, or see if they will rent you the tap. 2" i believe it is.

I have slipped a pipe inside the manifold before and just put two bolts thru the manifold from the side to tighten up the pipe. like tightening up a sprocket on a shaft.

I bought the set of 3 pipe taps from Northern. 1 1/2", 1 3/4", and 2 inch. I've used the 2 inch many times. Never needed the smaller ones. Yet.

The tap to run the threads in manifolds cost some bucks, I have one and fixin to run the threads in my H manifold if I ever get the old pipe out. What I'd do if I was you is take it to a machine shop, and it would probably cost less than the tap.

I have taken many exhaust pipes out of manifolds. Have it down to less than five minute job if manifold is off tractor.
Using sawsall cut pipe off 1/2 inch above manifold.
Then saw remaining pipe lengthwise just BARELY into the threads.
Use BFH and large punch or any steel dowel to collapse thwe pipe. Twist it out. Maybe a shot of penetrating oil.
Take it to the plumbing shop to get it tapped.
