Has anyone rebuilt a Clipper 2B?

I am rebuilding an old clipper 2b seed cleaner. The main shaft and carriers are worn out. It measures at ~13/16". I haven"t looked hard, but couldn"t find this size shaft, bearings, or pulleys. I"ve seen these cleaners updated with modern bearings and pulleys. Do they hunt down some 13/16" material, or jump to 7/8" and bore the old pulleys that cant be replaced out?

I have a 3 of them. One looks like it just came from factory. Has a cracked board that needs to be glued togeather and also has the bagging elevator. 2nd one is a metal 2B with screan cleaners and bagging elevator. This is one I plan on refurbishing. 3rd on is the one I modified and use for cleaning my corn for the corn burner. Did salvage some parts from another one. which shaft and carriers are you looking for. the one that is on the fan or the one that moves the screening bed.

The shaft with the eccentric drive for the screens. My shaft is not worn too badly, but the metal brakets that hold it to the wooden frame are worn through. I planned to use small pillow block bearings to carry this shaft, but started measuring and found that the shaft is not a normal size. Your cleaners sound nicer than mine, I looked for a while to find this one, that I plan to clean some oat and rye seed with.

I orded a new belt for mine from Clipper. Was thinking of doint the same as you if mine goes bad, but that would mean having to fabricate a new belt and eccentric arm for the shaker. Never checked on those parts from clipper.

If anybody happens to know of a 2B Special with the bagging elevator, that would want to part ways with, would like to add it to my collection. Hope the url link works.
Scroll down and it shows a pic of one.

If you can wait until later this evening, I can check mine. it had piller block bearings on it when I got it, Ill measure and see what they are. Mine also has an electric motor on it that the guy I bught it from said it had been on there since the early 60s, so I know the pulley on that side has been chagned, but I think the old wooden ones are still on there. We use it for a fan at tractor shows, but we have the shaker taken loose.

It would sure be a help, if you could tell me how that one was modified. I figured I could find a pulley for the motor side, but I still have the wooden ones on the other side, and would like to keep them. Thanks,
Josh

My appologies, I had completely forgot about this. The shaft is 1", and it supported by 2 piller block bearings, but I cant see a number on the blocks or the bearings, but I know I took one to a bearing supply house and got a repalcement years ago. It also looks like someone, probably the person who put these bearings on, chisled away some of the wood too, I assume to keep the same clearances and use the same belt on the other side. As soon as I can get back out there, as its pouring down rain right now, Ill try and get you a pic or 2....

Had a look at all my extra parts. I do have the shaft with the centric (welded in place) and the pulleys with one carrier. Shaft is worn down where one carrier was. Other carrier looks good, but want to keep it as one is broke on my other fanning mill. May want to build a couple brackets (to put on the side of the frame) to hold a couple (self centering) flange bearings If you can get the clearance close enough to the curent amount you can use the same drive belt and centric are. Just use 3/4" shaft and make a new centric for it.

Can’t help you much with the bushing problem as mine were not bad and I just added new zerks. However here is a link to the video I posted after I rebuilt mine if you’re interested.

We've got 2 of the 2B clippers, one has the bagging elevator but the belt inside doesn't turn. How does one make it work again? I think it sat too ong so the belt is really stiff and doesn't want to flex.
